Ear Infections

Ear infections, also known as Otitis media is an inner ear infection generally caused by blocked Eustachian tubes. These tubes allow equalized pressure on the ear drum and allow fluid to drain away from the inner ear. When the Eustacian tube is blocked, fluid builds up and causes pain and an infection.

Bones, called the transverse process, which stick out from the side of a vertebrae run alongside the Eustachian tubes at C1 the top cervical vertebrae. If a vertebrae is misaligned or not working properly (subluxated), swollen tissue results blocking the Eustacian tubes.

How Chiropractic Therapy Can Help

Chiropractic care works on relieving pain and correcting complications associated with ear infections. Chiropractic therapy is intended to remove the subluxations at C1 and C2 and so reduce the swollen tissue, allowing the ear to drain. In addition, Dr. Forster draws on acupuncture and other therapies to tailor treatment for each patient.
